YM1500 Transmission locked in reverse

Valve is open, drained fluid, cleaned screen and bottom of rear and trans when I replaced trans bearings.

If all you have is a whine, I wouldn't worry about it until something fails, then you can fix it. The only time mine ever whined was operating with the valve accidentally partly closed, causing a fluid blockage. I suppose any fluid blockage could cause a whine.

Just for the record, the whine turned out to be the alternator-it finally locked up.
