If you own an inexpensive voltmeter you might try looking for around 20ac volts where the wires come off your dynamo. This would be with engine rpms elevated a little. If you have that you might next try to see if you have that same voltage going into your regulator. If so, then see if you have 12-1/2 + dc volts, probably closer to 13 coming out of the regulator. If you check voltage on the battery with engine off, you can compare that with the voltage when running. Should be an increase. This testing might help you eliminate some possible failures.
