Wiring Schematic for 180D

Looking for a wiring schematic for a YM180D, alternator is not charging and need to run down problem, I know the regulators are unreliable, but before I condemn it I would like to verify the wiring, due to former owner doing some cobbling on it. It has an aftermarket keyswitch etc.

You may need to order a repair manuel if it's avalable.Esp. for your model This is the only wire Diagram I.ve seen posted in yrs. By Norm. and it may be close. You take a 522 solid state Voltage reg. and the diagram uses a 550 which they both have the same amount and same colored wires. I had to take my Alt to have it checked yrs ago its a Datsun 110 I believe. Aaron may have yours pretty rare model to me.

If you own an inexpensive voltmeter you might try looking for around 20ac volts where the wires come off your dynamo. This would be with engine rpms elevated a little. If you have that you might next try to see if you have that same voltage going into your regulator. If so, then see if you have 12-1/2 + dc volts, probably closer to 13 coming out of the regulator. If you check voltage on the battery with engine off, you can compare that with the voltage when running. Should be an increase. This testing might help you eliminate some possible failures.

Thanks for all the info, my tractor uses the small generator with 2 wire output and I have good voltage output there, it also has the 6 wire solid state regulator. I have plenty of tools and working knowledege of automotive and truck electrical. Just wanted to see if I could turn up a wiring diagram to make life a little easier.
