How did we figure this? We first decided on a list of parts, before ever looking up a single price. The parts were picked in order to represent standard maintenance item that will typically need replacing on a tractor. We then picked a random horsepower range and found a tractor from each manufacturer that fit that range. We then checked manufacturers suggested retail price on these parts from: 1- John Deere's parts website, 2- Yanmar Parts Retail Price List 2004, 3- multiple Kubota dealers. Prices good as of 5-10-04. Parts are all new parts. No core charges required on any parts. *Tractors with dual element air filters (inner and outer) were added together to better represent a complete filter change. Single element filters require only 1 filter.
