YANMAR OIL FILTER SERVICE
INTERVAL - 100 HOURS
TIME REQUIRED - 15 MINUTES

Nothing will ruin your engine as fast as low or no
oil pressure. Complete engine lock-upcan occur in just seconds.
There are 3 things that you can do to help prevent problem due to
low oil pressure. 1- Check your oil level before each use. 2- Replace
your filters with quality filters that are designed for diesel engine
service. 3- Change your oil and filter at least every 100 hours.
Here is how:
1 - Loosen and remove drain plug located at the bottom of the engine
in the oil pan.
2 - Allow oil to drain for several minutes. Be sure
that all of the oil has drained from the engine because any remaining
dirty oil will contaminate the new oil.
3 - Remove
oil filter with a filter wrench or a pair of channel lock pliers.
Some tractors may have shields that need to be removed before you
can remove the filter. Be sure to remove the old gasket!
If you install the new filter without removing the old gasket the
filter may suddenly start leaking. Sometimes days after changing
the oil!
4 - Make sure the filter housing is clean. Put a small
film of oil on the new filter to help it seal. Screw the filter
on as tight as you can by hand, then, with a filter wrench (never
use channel locks on a new filter. They can damage the filter and
cause it to leak) tighten an additional 1/4 turn or as directed
on the filter.
5 - Replace drain plug and tighten. Do not over tighten
or you could damage the threads in the oil pan! Fill with the recommended
type and quantity of oil.
6 - Start tractor and watch for the oil pressure light
to go off or for the oil pressure gauge to show normal oil pressure.
If you do not get oil pressure within a few seconds you could cause
damage to your engine. Check for leaks around filter and drain plug.
